Dragon Origin

The most wise dragon firmly insists that this world was born in battle. According to myth, the space before the creation was the domain of three powerful dragons. Golden Siberys is the source of all magic. Gentle and kind Eberron is the source of life. Cruel Khyber is the master of secret knowledge hidden in the power of darkness. Together they maintain domination over the destiny of everything and think about the proper form of the universe.

In the beginning, the Progenitors worked together. They created thirteen planes, but as reality was shaped, they diverged. Dark Khyber became greedy, while the noble Siberys responded more strongly; both parties sought to make a greater impact at work. Daanvi, Fernia, and Irian imprinted Siberys' lead. Kythri, Mabar and Xoriat show the impact of Khyber's dominance. Eberron tried to mediate, but was unable to bridge the divide.

By the time the final center plane was created, the tension between Khyber and Siberys could no longer be contained. Dark Khyber stormed her countrymen, inflicting fatal wounds on Golden Dragon and throwing his scales into the sky. Although not strong enough to defeat her, Eberron knew that Khyber could not be allowed to benefit from her actions. Mild, she refused to fight Khyber with minions. Instead, Eberron hugged her, trapped Khyber with her suffocating entanglement, and summoned the power of life to produce soil, forest, and ocean, thus turning herself into a living prison where Khyber couldn't escape.
So Eberron became the world on which all life grew. She nurtured and supported everything to this day. Siberys's body becomes a ring around this world, and his scattered scales become stars. Khyber-the Dragon Below, the mother of monsters, the source of all darkness-still trapped in it, always working to escape and end everything.

The First Era

After the aftermath of the War of Origins, life appeared in a new world. Siberys fell during the war, but the power remained in his blood. These blood filled with the purest magic essence fell to Eberron, and the combination of life and magic produced a new creature with the power of two progenitors: the dragon. Siberys' blood fell on the cloud, and a silver dragon was born. It fell into the icy lake, and Bailong rose from the ice. It landed on the swamp, and the black dragon appeared in the dark depths. In this way, all dragons are born. They are powerful and proud, possessing the mysterious power of Siberys and the lively vitality of Eberron.

Few contemporary creatures exist at the beginning of time. Xen'drik's Titan was born shortly after that, with power but lack of knowledge. Lower races have not yet appeared; dark creatures have not yet multiplied. So wild dragons soar in the world, reveling in their power.
The only thing that really matched the dragon was Couatl-the winged snake that appeared in Sarlona. Despite its power, the dragon is still mortal. They multiply, they grow, and eventually they die. Couatl stands outside the cycle of life; legend says that Couatl is made of pure Siberys' blood that fell before Eberron, so they are truly immortal. They only respawn after death, so their number remains constant. Although powerful, Couatl stayed in Sarlona, leaving the world to the dragon to explore.

The Blood of Khyber

For countless millennia, the dragon was the only master of Eberron. Then new threats emerged. Khyber was trapped in the depths of Eberron, but this could not eradicate the power of the Dark Dragon. Finally, a great deal of terror has multiplied in the depths. Rakshasa, Aboleths, and other horrors appeared in order to occupy the world above. The most powerful is Overlord, who has such a powerful power that he can almost be called a demon of God. At that time, dragon organizations were in simple groups, and they often fought against each other. Scattered and barbaric, they cannot match Khyber's Overlords.

Dragon's Prophecy

(The picture originates from the internet )

After the powerful demons consolidated their dominance over the surface world, they ruled a nightmare kingdom for hundreds of thousands of years. The once proud dragon was forced to be enslaved and bound. Demon domination may last until the end of time without Couatl-Hezcalipa and a blue dragon called Ourlonastrix. The two idealists worked together for centuries, studying the sky and the stars, and comparing their findings to the mysterious patterns that appear on the ground. They believe that such research will reveal a map of the future, an outline of the myriad roads that history will follow. Ourelonastrix believes that this is the wisdom of Progenitors, the real blueprint for reality. He called it-co-authored by Eberron and Siberys-the Dragon's Prophecy.

The Big War

The Dragon's Prophecy gives Ourlonastrix an in-depth understanding of the weaknesses of the demon Overlord. In addition, it gives the dragon and its peers a sense of hope-the belief that the dragon is part of something greater. Ourelonastrix and Hezcalipa followed the path predicted by the prophecy, convening their people against Khyber's descendants, and waged a war that would last thousands of years. Although they are weak alone-or because they are weak-the demon Overlord is scattered and conceited. This allowed the Dragon-Couatl Alliance to gather forces to defeat them one by one.

Despite this advantage, this war still seems hopeless because the Overlord is truly immortal. An Overlord's defeat is temporary at best, and simple spells cannot restrain them. Later, Hezcalipa's research revealed the way to victory. In fact, the ending seems to be doomed. However, the cost is terrible. Under Hezcalipa's leadership, Couatl sacrificed almost their entire race, forging their extraordinary essence into a pure force field that could imprison Overlord and their fierce followers. Although some demons escaped, the war was won.

Although the dragons fought bravely, some dragons believed that they abandoned Couatl in the end and refused to share the cost of the final sacrifice. This doubt is reasonable, but it seems unlikely. This may be the case. As a mortal thing, the dragon just doesn't have the soul energy it needs. Perhaps Dragon's survival was a deliberate decision. Couatl's sacrifice left both heaven and purgatory from Eberron, leaving the dragon as the prophet's master and the world's most powerful creature.
