Other reviewers who said it was wobbly didn’t put it together correctly. You use two of the height markers together, fitted in a crossed pattern, before inserting into the base. It’s actually a little too tight of a fit. I used a metal file to file down the inserts so it was easier to put together and take apart. Very steady. However, when moving, don’t expect miniatures to just stay in place. Either hold them in place as you move it on the map, or you can even use a little dab of fun tack on the miniatures to keep it in place if it’s a long battle and you need to move it a lot. In the picture, the dragon is not heavy, but the miniatures is a solid metal piece. These can hold any miniature you happen to have.

This does not come with instructions and is very confusing to put together. Luckily since it was a gift for my husband we were able to figure it out together. I’d feel bad giving this as a gift to someone else who may have no luck figuring out how to put it together. We only used one height measure piece on the base at first and it was so wobbly that the minis wouldn’t stand on it. We finally figured out that the height measure pieces interlock. Our case for it arrived damaged. Luckily none of the pieces inside were broken but they are pretty fragile feeling when you interlock them, so I give it two-three sessions before they break. It’s not worth the money spent on it, unfortunately.

Each comes in 4 pieces. Some care must be taken during assembly/disassembly; but once they are together are very sturdy. They are exactly as pictured and displayed! They work very well for their purpose. AND they come in a sturdy plastic case with foam cutouts to keep them from getting scratched! (See pic) I’m using a couple of tiny neodymium magnets to mark the height. Just perfect!

These got a lot of comments from my players when I put them on my table. They look great and are very simple to use. As you can see from my photo, I marked the altitude on the stems with a simple dot from a red dry-erase marker. Most importantly, the laser-cut acrylic pieces make a very snug fit that doesn’t wobble. I even set a solid resin Gargantuan mini on top of the larger of the two stands and there was no problem with the weight. I’ll be using these for years to come. If there is one criticism, it’s that the numbers are slightly hazy to read through the acrylic, but that is truly a trifling problem and doesn’t take away from how good this product is.***EDIT*** I stupidly missed that the “haziness” I was experiencing on the stands was because of a protective film on the surface. I peeled it off and it looks perfect! Apologies...

Our D&D group owns a boat, so we used the model in the picture. Plus, one of the PCs is flying, so his mini is on a pedestal that indicates flight that I bought from the same company that made the boat and gave my husband for a Father's Day gift .
